Chillin' & Creatin'

With this chilly New England weather hanging around, I can't finish the priming of the cabinets in the PUP...so I made something cute for the camper & something that will be very helpful at the campground.

I designed this adorable pillow to go on one of the camper beds...I made it with leftover fabric I had stashed away...you know that bag of scraps you keep saying you're going to get rid of!!...glad it came in handy!!...I will need to come up with another pillow for the other bed.

I also made a Shower Lanyard...I found this awesome DIY idea on The Pop-Up Princess.
These will be very helpful in the shower stalls...some shower stalls do not have a place to put your belongings...if they do, most of the time that place is soaking wet...placing the lanyard over the shower head or a nearby hook will be very convenient!

We also got these awesome clear plastic totes (for free!!) from a New England Revolution
game...they hold everything we need for the shower.

Our Lil' Cottage on Wheels

Going by the calendar, we are out of winter & into spring...but here in southern New England, either Mother Nature or Punxsutawney Phil or both are bit confused...because it has been quite chilly lately with only a couple of days that were around 70°.

We have a saying here in New England when discussing the weather's ever changing ways..."Just wait a minute!!"

Whatever the weather is right now, I know it is only going to get warmer & sunnier...so with that being, I have been working on our 2003 Coleman pop up camper or as I will be calling it, our PUP!!...my Hubs & I bought it off Craigslist last summer...we were able to use it for two weekend trips...we tent camped for many years...which was not bad at all...but now that we have our PUP, it is so much nicer to be off the ground & also not to be hunched over getting in & out of the tent.

When we got our PUP it was in great shape structurely...it was clean on the outside & also the inside...but with most used PUPs you will find a few unpleasantries!!... it had orangey-brown wood like cabinets with brass looking hardware...ugly, scratchy cushions & mattress covers...mice chewed curtains & canvas, which were badly patched...the floors were in great shape, but I did not like the 90's flooring...so this is were my creative juices started flowing...along with many awesome ideas from Pinterest & the Pop-Up Princess blog...I have been sewing & sanding & priming & sewing again!!!...this redo or facelift or glampover...whatever you want to on call it, will ultimately be our Lil' Cottage on Wheels!

  Dingy wood-like cabinets
     with brass-like hardware...

 Scratchy cushions & mattresses...

    Mouse chewed curtains & canvas...
this is how they were patched up...
    Ya, I Don't Think So!!!

And last but not least the fabulous
1990's flooring!!!...they really aren't
too bad...but I can do much better!!

So there it is...we love our PUP...we can not wait to take many trips with it & make lots of memories with our family & friends!!

I will be posting all the projects that will be happening on our PUP...
before & after pictures too!!

Have a great day!!

Pallet Fun!!!

Here is another pallet project I have done...
I really like how it came out...I had some scrap pieces of
pallet lying around...I've had the letters
for quite awhile...so I came up with this...

Something New for the New Year!!

I have been wanting a fabric to freshen up our livingroom...so
when I found this gorgeousness at Joann Fabrics right after
Christmas I was thrilled...it has all the colors I wanted
for this room and the design is awesome.

The main curtains are ivory cotton panels I made for
our bedroom quite awhile ago...I made valence type panels from the
new fabric that I have attached to the ivory panels at the top with clip rings.
This way when I want to change out the look (and boy do I change alot...
just ask my hubby!!!)...all I have to do is unclip the valance panel
and attach a new one.

I also made a pair of pillows to tie the room all
 together...they have simple envelope
back openings...again this helps with an easy
change to the room.

So here is a start to our "New Year" refreshed
livingroom...oh and off to the right is my
PB knock-off typewriter art!!

Chair project

This is one of two Lazy Boy recliners I snatched up.
I found her at a Savers store...She was tagged for 35.00...she was
also tagged with a 1/2 off color tag...so she was a sweet 17.50.

As you can see she was not that pretty.
So one day I dragged my hubby into a Joann Fabrics to help me pick
out some fabric...he chose Waverly Terrarium-Leaf.
Love it!!

After pulling a bazillion staples out and carefully taking all
the old fabric off the chair, so I could use as patterns and
painting her legs a Beach white...

I sewed and stapled my way to this beauty.
We love her!
Can't wait to see her sister looking this awesome!
